WHO cone bioassay

Cone bioassays are recommended by the WHO to assess the efficacy of insecticide treated nets and surfaces treated with insecticide formulations used in indoor residual spraying. During the test, plastic cones are mounted over a piece of net (or other treated substrate) and mosquitoes introduced inside the cone for a specified exposure time. The end points are knockdown and mortality.
